The first 12 subjects (Control Group) were exposed to the NOX protocol for 72 continuous hours.

Results:
- 9 abandoned before 6 hours.
- 2 remained between 12 and 48 hours.
- 1 (Subject #7) completed 71h53min.

Subject #7, when questioned about his persistence, replied:
"I wasn't trying to win. I just wanted to see what came next."
